Complaints

If during studies with Financial Education Professionals, participants have any concerns, they are encouraged to contact Joan Street, Education Director, in the first instance. A copy of the Grievance Procedure is available on request.

If the matter remains unresolved after all opportunities to resolve it through Financial Education Professionals have been exhausted, then students may seek to have the complaint investigated by an external party (such as the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA))

Refund Policy

Financial Education Professionals’ refund policies with respect to our various offerings are detailed in each brochure. However, the Custody Program has a specific policy which can be accessed here.

Privacy Policy

Financial Education Professionals Pty Ltd (ABN 51 096 944 062) (Financial Education) is a privately owned Australian company.

Financial Education appreciates that privacy is very important to you. We have adopted the following Privacy Policy because we recognise your right to expect that other people will treat your personal information as private. This Privacy Policy covers Financial Education’s treatment of personally identifiable information that we collect or hold. Like many other organisations, Financial Education complies with the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act when dealing with personal information.

The Information We Collect

Financial Education will collect certain information about you, such as your name, address, and contact details when you register with us. We may also collect this and other specific types of personal information necessary for the particular product or service you request from us and during the course of dealing with you, for example, when you register for assessment or training with Financial Education.

Where practicable, the purpose for which we are collecting that personal information will be made clear at the time of collection, as will the details of any law which requires us to collect particular information.

We may also collect personal information about you from third parties where we are retained by those third parties such as licence holders to assist them with auditing and compliance programs.

People can generally visit any of the websites of the Financial Education without revealing who they are or divulging any personal information. Financial Education will not collect any personal information about visitors to the website, except when such visitors knowingly provide it. If you provide us with personal information through a Financial Education website, we may log your usage of Financial Education sites for the purposes described below.

How We Use Your Information

Financial Education may use your personal information for the purposes disclosed at the time of collection, or otherwise as set out in this Privacy Policy. We will not use your personal information for any other purpose without first seeking your consent, unless authorised or required by law.

  • To provide the products, services or information requested from Financial Education, including providing you with products such as assessment or training or providing you or others with services such as compliance programs for financial advisers;

  • By disclosing it to third parties where we have been retained by those third parties to assist them with recruitment of appropriately qualified personnel, or for the purpose of compliance checking their dealers, agents or contractors;
  • To assist us to make Financial Education sites, services and products more valuable to our clients;
  • For direct marketing of products or services and to keep you informed of new developments we believe may be of interest to you. If we contact you in this way without obtaining your prior consent, we will provide you with the opportunity to decline any further marketing communications.

In some instances we may request sensitive information about you, such as ethnic, cultural or religious issues or disability needs which may need to be addressed in the delivery of the training programs we provide. We may also collect information about your membership of professional associations. Financial Education will not disclose such information to third parties without your consent unless authorised or required by law.

Access To Your Information

You can access your personal information held by Financial Education by contacting the Financial Education Privacy Officer using the address below. We will provide you with access unless we are legally authorised to refuse your request. We reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee for providing such information.

If you wish to change any personal information that is incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date, please contact us. After receiving notice from you, we will take reasonable steps to correct such information. If you wish to have your personal information removed from our records, please let us know and we will delete that information wherever practicable.

We may refuse your request to access, amend or delete your personal information in certain circumstances. If we do refuse your request, we will provide you with a reason for our decision and, in the case of amendment, we will include a note with your personal information that you have disputed its accuracy.

Our web site and our training products may contact links to other web sites and this statement has no application to these other web sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the contact on these other web sites. We encourage you to read the Privacy Policy of every web site you visit.

Internet Security

Financial Education will take reasonable steps to keep secure any personal information that we hold and to keep this information accurate and up to date. Personal information is stored in a secure server or secure files.

The Internet is not always a secure method of transmitting information. Accordingly, Financial Education cannot accept responsibility for the security of information you send to or receive from us over the Internet of for any unauthorised access or use of that information.

Financial Education Professionals is committed to access and equity in the provision of training and related services and accordingly to improving people’s chances of getting into and succeeding in education, training and employment. As a Registered Training Organisation, Financial Education Professionals accepts the challenge of ensuring that training and related opportunities extend to all members of Australia’s diverse community.

Financial education Professional’s personnel are aware and committed to the principles of access and equity. Access and equity issues are addressed during staff induction and during staff meetings and professional development.
