Protecting privacy and data
What is Privacy and data protection?
In Australia, the Privacy Act 1988 requires organisations to manage personal information in a way that protects the privacy of individuals. This includes complying with the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), which govern how personal information is collected, used, disclosed and stored.
In your role, you may handle personal and sensitive information such as customer details, financial data or identification records. Understanding how to manage this information correctly is essential to maintaining trust and meeting legal obligations.
