RG146 Tier 2 Combined Accreditation Program (General Advice)

RG146 Tier 2 Combined Accreditation (General Advice) explores regulation and licensing of financial services, including laws and frameworks for ethical practices in the workplace. You will learn the various banking, non-cash payments, and insurance products available in Australia and how to communicate effectively with customers when providing general advice in financial products and services.

Entry Requirements

Prospective students need to:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be working in the finance sector: For some assessment tasks, students may need to refer to their organisation’s policies, procedures, and product information
  • Be digitally literate to: research activities, upload, download and save documents and make an audio or video recording on a smartphone, tablet or computer
  • Have suitable language, literacy and numeracy skills to undertake the training
  • Have a Unique Student Identifier

Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning

  • Differentiate between deposit products and non-cash payments and explain how they are used by customers
  • Explain the structure of insurance markets, participants, and underwriting
  • Identify the characteristics of commonly issued general insurance products
  • Assess client needs and advise on appropriate financial and general insurance products.

On successful completion of the Tier 2 Combined Accreditation Program, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment confirming that you are RG 146 compliant to provide general advice in the following specialist knowledge areas:

  • Deposit Products and Non-Cash Payment Products
  • Tier 2 General Insurance.

You will also receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment awarding the following units of competency:

  • FNSASIC311 Establish client relationship and analyse needs
  • FNSASIC314 Provide Tier 2 general advice in general insurance

Your USI is your individual education number for life. It is a compulsory requirement for all Australian students who have studied or are studying nationally recognised training. It also creates a government authenticated record of your vocational education and training (VET) achievements regardless of the training provider from 2015 onwards. Sound English language, literacy, numeracy and communication skills are required as these skills are incorporated in each subject. A pre-entry assessment is used to determine whether applicants have appropriate Language Literacy and Numeracy skills (LLN) to enable a successful outcome in their chosen course.

You must also ensure that your representatives are adequately trained and competent to engage in the credit activities authorised by your licence: s47(1)(g).
